Component upgrade

So i have a 2010 Giant Defy 3 which i really like.

I decided that i would upgrade the components rather than buy a newer bike this year and then in a couple of years make it my winter/turbo bike

so far i have done this

giant original saddle changed to a Fizik Alcante
triple FSA Mega crank changed to a compact Shimano r600
Sora 3400 upgraded to Sora 3500
Standard wheels upgraded to Shimnao R501 (aero blades)

total cost so far £260 (all new parts)



was thinking about changing the handlebars to carbon???
carbon seatpost???



the bike is purely used for pleasure rides in the country ( max 80km)

any other upgrades that would improve my enjoyment of this great bike??

Carbon bars will cost around £200 and not worth it on the defy. I have a Defy 1 and I wouldn't think it's worth it.
Carbon seat post in theory will reduce weight and make the ride a little better???
Buy the best tyres you can, possibly 25c

I'd forget the bars and seatpost and spend the extra on either a decent chainset or decent wheels. What you have there is not much of an upgrade.

I swapped my 501's to Mavic Cosmic - words cannot express the difference it made to my bike.

Everyone says this is the best upgrade possible - and they are right!

No wonder , you swapped a pair of levi jeans for some expensive wheels!?
