Hi i am new to this site i am looking for pointers in the right direction and this site looked good. i currently am a beginner to riding (almost a year now) i want to start a retro project using a Raleigh competition as the the look of the bike and use parts as similar as i can afford, i cant afford to just go out and buy a restored one and i love the look of the 1979 (i think ) model. can anyone help me with a starting point, i am looking for a frame Reynolds 531 is there anywhere to look besides ebay. thanks for any help. mike

i would not worry about the split in all fairness just thought best to mention it up front .
