Comparison between old and new ?

Please move this to the right place,cyclechat has too many options IMO,not a swipe..
Looking at a new road bike second hand,Giant is looking like the option ?
Where would a 06 Giant tcr advanced stand against, a 2012 tcr Giant,the first,£4000 the later £2500.?New prices then obviously,?

Stating the obvious, and assuming the older bike hasn't been upgraded, then one is new and the other is 8 years old and will include all the wear and tear that goes with, (possibly), 8 years use.

I wouldn't be blowing that sort of cash on an 8 year old used bike myself.

You can buy a whole lot of brand new bike for less than or upto £2.5k TBH.

Go along to your LBS and try some out, with your budget I'm sure you'll find them very accommodating, and don't get hung up on one make, the right bike is the one that fits you.

PS: I haven't actually looked up either of the bikes you mentioned as I'm busy watching snooker
