Comparable Components

Can anyone out there give me an idea of comparable Shimano components to the Campagnolo Veloce range?

if you're going the campag route, make sure you're mechanic enough to order the parts and fit them yourself, or that your lbs is campag friendly; not all are.

The reason I ask is that I'm weighing up a few bikes and one of them is fitted with Campagnolo Veloce components and was unsure where they were in the Shimano range.

I was going to post the same as Sittingduck, except to correct him on his categorisation, since he is using a 2008 line-up.

2009 Veloce is probably equivalent to Tiagra pricewise. In terms of mechanics and ergonomics it is up to the individual to decide if Shimano or Campag is better.
