Evening,

I am going to be buying a bike to commute to work which is around a 25-30 round trip likely on the road or along the beach which is mostly smoothish concrete with the odd bit of gravel. It has a few hills on route but nothing major. Anyway my work are doing a cycle to work scheme upto a value of £1000 and would like advise on what to get please. These are the ones I have been looking at:

I am open to other suggestions.
I do not know about bikes at all so any help is appreciated.

Are you set on the belt drive flat bar type of bike?

Of the two, for regular commuting I would go for the one with disc brakes, which are so much more reliable and trustworthy in the wet.

Sorry it is 30 miles. I am not set on anything really as long as it's around £800.

I do thirty miles each way now, I got my first road bike three years ago. It didn't take long to get used to the drop handle bars.

I'd recommend what I did, and get a road bike.

I got a Cinelli Experience. Most people will advise panniers and mudguard holes blah blah, but I leave everything I need at work and have a race blade detachable mudguard on the rear.

Be sure to set aside cash for lights, gloves, tools, spares, etc. And practice changing tubes/tires at home

Welcome!
