commenting on status

I see that some status have comments underneath but how do you enter a comment, could we have a 'like' button on them too just like FB (kiddin been reading other threads!)

At the moment you have to click on the person's avatar, visit the Profile page and then add your follow-up comment on that page (and "like" it too ... ).

The add-on developer of the comments sidebar is working on updating it so you can comment directly from the sidebar without having to navigate away - which will be much better.

Was just going to repeat this question myself but lo and behold, here's the answer already. It's a shame it works this way as it takes away some of the spontaneity (maybe this is a good thing?). Looking forward to having a reply bar in the status section itself.
