I just whip on some overshoes, i think it does mainly depend on your shoes.

If your shoes have little ventilation and your feet are cold. then i would recommend new socks.
If your shoes have lots of ventilation, then a pair of overshoes should see you through until it starts getting real cold.

I get cold feet easily can some recommend me a pair of lightweight non waterproof type overshoes.

I have a pair of Altura Stretch Shield Overshoes for inclement weather but I am looking for something in-between.

satans budgie, go to your LBS, with your cycling shoes, which sells clothing & ask to look at their wind/shower proof overshoes. Find something that fits over the shoe easily. There is a lot to be said for not letting cold air get to the shoes & containing your bodies natural heat.

Thick socks i.e. ski socks (or two pairs of socks if you've got room!) and overshoes work for me on all but the coldest weather. I get terribly cold hands and feet and sometimes I feel it doesn't matter how hard I try I will still feel like the odd finger or toe is going to drop off!

garz,i have the same from lidl, had em over 12 months, the elastic soon cut through so i cut it off and they are still great, nice and warm and they still stay put despite not having the elastic on the bottom and the hat is top notch, well worth the £6 on its own imho

I am the same plax, usually the hands play up most. Will try the colder periods this year on the new road bike as before it was experienced on a flat barred hybrid.

thinking about it they may have been from aldi,i have just looked and they are made nt crane, the hat is shower proof, windproof fleece lined and nice and warm, also its very thin so no bulkiness under helmet.

Did 4 hours overtime last week so i have treated myself to these:

Just wear two pairs or even three pairs of socks. If it's really cold like zero or -2C then wear over shoes such Endura MT500s. Put socks, hat, gloves and neck fleece in the oven at 50C and put them on just before you actually go out. Nice and warm. Stops you being cold from the start .

I've got the same problem, a motorbiking colleague has recently recommended heated gloves (with rechargeable battery pack strapped to the arms if I remember correctly). Has anybody tried this? At an estimated £100 it sounds a bit expensive ...

I think that would be excessive tele. Improve your circulation by changing hand position often and make sure not too much weight is on the wrists/arms.

A quality windproof glove should be enough and if its uber cold add an inner layer.
