Having suffered from cold feet with my SPD shoes, even with the Altura Night Vision Waterproof Overshoes, Santa bought me Shimano's MT90 waterproof/breathable SPD boots. They're great! My feet are warmer in them than with the previous shoes/overshoes combination, they look sensible when you're walking around the shops in them (not like you're wearing dancing shoes), and the cleat is recessed enough that you don't click as you're walking along; oh, and they're good on the bike too. I'm a very happy customer, and got them for 'just' £93.

good, although I have no idea how you get off a trike and look sensible

indeed

I've been riding to evening classed or 18 months in full kit, tights, nightvison top, road shoes, the lot, arriving late and climbing over the front rwo to my seat in front of the lecturer and other sudents

after the prang in Dec I turned up in regular clothes to a babble of wtf, why, what happened, including the crime lecturere wanting to know why I wasn't in cycle togs

I do a similar thing, going to Uni as a mature student on the bike and wearing all the fluorescent stuff although I do wear jeans to cycle. I have a rather scruffy fleece that I put on once I arrive and my hair is generally bad due to being stuffed in a woolly hat.

One day I ran into one of my fellow students whilst I was all dressed up smart having been to church and I was so relieved that I could prove to my classmates that I did actually have some nice clothes and could look normal and, dare I say it, like a girl!

Well they're not lightweight but I don't notice them as particularly heavy - certainly not as heavy as the walking boots that I wear when taking the dog out. I think they're meant to be 1.2kg the pair.
