CO2 cartridges. How often can they be used?

Just had first puncture of the year. Used a CO2 canister for the first time.
Wow! Blew the tyre up in less than 2 seconds.
How much gas is in there? I can't believe I've emptied it. Does anyone know if these can be used more than once? I don't want to throw it away if it's still usable but don't want to carry a dead weight for no reason.

I'm running 700 x 28 tyres.

I could be wrong but I've always assumed that they are single use only i.e. the remaining case escapes when the connector is removed from the valve.

Not enough to do a second tyre/tube, and the seal is seldom 100% airtight once pierced. Expect it to be empty within a week.

Co2 also very slowly leaks thru the tube, so unless you want to be constantly topping up, let all the Co2 out and pump it back up with your track pump.

Single use item, just make sure you recycle them when empty . A single 16g cartridge should get a 700x28c tyre to between 85 and 95psi.

As mentioned above, I always empty the tube and re-pump it when I get home as the gas does leak out of butyl tubes over time.
