I have these pedals double sided and easy to clip in and out and these are simular to my shoes

I started with double sided pedals, but changed to flat one side, clipless the other as I like to have my left foot free when in traffic. I kept the double sided and may change back when I get more confident. I don't experience any difficulty turning pedal over when I want the 'other' side.

As for shoes,Shimano MTB similar to the ones above-easy to walk around in.

I have just invested in M520 pedals and some bargain Northwave Kameleon mtb shoes for my road bike. Sooo much better than clips and straps ;)

M520's ! Brilliant Value!

For shoe I went for Specialized MTB sports, fit very well, and walkable too!

Been using for a week and love them, although I have falled off once with them I couldn't ever see myself goin back to normal pedals

I have the spds on my old mountain bike and when I first got on my new Sirrus Elite I found the standard pedals seriously strange.

I have just bought a new pair of Specialized Taho shoes and will be changing the pedals shortly probably for the M520s. This is my second pair of Specialized shoes and simply went for them because they are comfortable from the word go - either on the bike or off.

I did use the m520 pedal and Specialized shoe's, used them a few times but changed to flats as i forgot a few times that my feet are stuck to them when at junctions oopps.

But i will go back to them when i have my new bike.
