So after I was so excited I was getting a road bike I started to think. Do I really need one me and mom just ride the bike path. My versa is a great bike but what can I do to improve it? After talking to my lbs I found crank brothers candy pedals and a pair of black and pink giro shoes BAM whole different riding experience. So I fell one time but much better ride with that system on my bike.

n+1 is strong, but there's nothing wrong with optimising what you have.

If you do end up getting a road bike later, you will know far more about what you would want it to be like the more you get used to your current bike as well
