How often should I clean my bike and clean the chain I normally wipe the bike down after av been out and wash it at the weekend is this ok
But more curious about the chain how do I keep the chain at its best and same goes for all other moving parts

Basically, I just keep my bikes free of crud, oil the chain if it looks like it needs it.
Unless the bike is 'really dirty' I don't even bother wiping it as it will get cleaned/washed in the next downpour.

I'm pretty sure somebody will be along very shortly to tell you exactly what do do with your chain...

I use a chain cleaner every so often, but usually its enough to spray some WD40 on a rag and run the chain through it a few times to get the muck off. Then run it through a clean(er) rag to dry it, then re-lube.

To be honest I havnt cleaned my chain yet but I do like to jet wash her if its been damp/moist and this time of year there is a lot of salt on the road so a 2 pound rinse, shampoo and rinse off dosnt hurt. My thought chains are cheap and dependent on miles covered just buy a new one every 3 to 6 months if it bothers you :s

I just gave mine its first clean, albeit thorough, in I think 12 months. Chain gets cleaned/lubed weekly(ish) but otherwise I just let nature take it course by which I wait for it to rain to clean the bike lol

Jet washing a bike is a really bad thing to do (unless you stand about 20feet away) - it will wash all of the grease out of all the important bits of your bike
