Cleaning seatpost ?

Clearing out the garage and coming across components from my previous bikes.

I've got a nice DA seatpost that I'd like to clean up a bit. Anyone done this before ?

A new 'scotchbrite' type washing up pad would shift most of that, finish it off with Solvol Autosol.

I did the Scotchbrite pad thing on my Ti seatpost.
Came up a treat.
