I wouldn't use baby wipe. Just alcohol or hot water with a bit of detergent. Even glass cleaner would be good.

And don't use any brushes or rags that have been used to clean your chain or gears!

An aerosol clutch and brake cleaner. Squirt liberally onto the disc and wipe off with a CLEAN rag. Then spray liberally in and amongst the calipers/pads and again, wipe off excess with a clean rag.

Wow - just read that article - surprised they can sell the stuff - recognised the chemicals as used to work in a metal plating factory and use them for stripping the finish of stainless steel - nasty stuff.

What about the heat from a disk rotor, that gets quite hot ?

Makes me wonder if they are using the same stuff now, unlikely I hope..

Ill stick with alcohol wipes thanks - I get these with the brake pads anyway.

I would avoid aerosol brake cleaner. Not only is it an aerosol but it's quite dangerous. Read this: http://www.brewracingframes.com/id75.htm
So would I if I were to be welding anything.
