Hi everyone. I have acquired this bike from my father in law. I believe it to be about 1948-50 . It was originally a single cog with one brake and being built as he could afford it.
Can anyone confirm a date from the photo’s?

I think its an early 50's,12951 or 1952, Universal Club. Same frame detail, lamp boss on the forks, and chainset. Certainlymwithin a couple of years either side of that.

Will likely make a most excellent bike to ride.

PS, be very careful clamping the frame in a stand. The top tube is only about 0.4mm thick at that point and easily damaged. Seat post is a safer bet for clamping.
