Yes. Yes I do, provided it's tastefully done.

That said, a lot of vintage components perform admirably, and substituting anew won't necessarily make the bike perform any better.

This is the important bit - so no ugly deep section wheels or threadless steerers on lugged steel frames that should have shallow section rims and quill stems!

For me, yes: I was thinking about this for a frame I have.

Personally I like to try and retain the groupset but add 700c wheels and modern dual pivot brakes, you then have the best of both worlds. I’ve done two like this and they’re great to ride, plus they stop properly!

PS: I am fully aware this is not in fact a classic vintage frame. It is 'only' an 80's Peugeot HLE, but it built a nice bike if I do say so myself, and it rode beautifully, despite the agricultural Campag Veloce

I went from this...

...to this, with Campagnolo Potenza 11-speed. Just had to cold-set the rear triangle for 11-speed wheels:

Everything that came off the bike is wrapped up in a box and could go back on it if I ever wanted to sell it or switch it back (which I don't)

I like "brifters" - make life easier, and safer for me , on busy roads.
I have fitted them to two of my bikes. My Raleigh Competition shouldn't really have them, but I think they look fine on it.
