Hi,

Has anyone got any experience with either of these (Cinelli Experience vs Felt Z85). I am looking into my first road bike (from a hybrid) and want a different brand from the standard specialised/ treks etc. I am stuck with shopping in Evans Cycles due to vouchers which does limit my choice.

I have tried Shimano 105's and they are good, I just have no experience using campagnolo kit. I know it uses a thumb button like my wifes sora bianchi which is fine by me. Also the Cinelli is meant to take 28mm tyres which is a pro as I can use it on paths occasionally.

My main usage will be my 9 mile daily commute and I don't want to spend loads and these seem good value.

Thanks

Personally I'd have the Cinelli. Less common than Felt and Cinelli is a classic Itallian manufacturer (OK frames come from the Far east). Down side is the Cinelli may not be as well specc'ed as the Felt.

I am more keen on the Cinelli, It would cost me £1000, compared to the Felt costing £925. but it does look a nice bike
I am just not sure on how the Veloce compares to 105.

I have ordered them both into store to try out and the Felt has arrived, but the Cinelli won't arrive till next week and I can only hold the Z85 for 5 days. So where I was hoping to try them both at the same time I either get the Felt or hold out for the latter. I know Evans only have a stock of 3 felts in total for my size.

I had the Felt Z85, lovely bike nice finish. The geometry was relaxing enough for 100 milers

Personally I don't like either bike TBH, sorry but you did ask, personally I'd find another £50 and get THIS :becool:

But, if your budget is absolutely set in stone then I'd get THIS

FWIW I built a winter bike up with Veloce a last year, (decided to try Campag for a change), but I really didn't like it at all, it felt very agricultural compared to Shimano IME, but hey, give it a go you might like it yourself.

This is likely to become a shamans versus campy debate.

If your concern is the action of thumb shifters on veloce don't be worried, they are fine and work very simply. As far comparison with Sora, don't go there because there's no comparison. Veloce works brilliantly.

I stopped using my best bike which used SRAM force which is supposed to work faultlessly. Despite visits to a number of fecklers it didn't, the front mech was truly crap.

Started using my little used winter bike wit Veloce and I had forgotten just how good it is. Far superior.

However 105 will also work fine.

Personally it would be the Cinelli for me every time.

But just depends how they feel to you when you ride.

You have to be a Cannondale rep smokey ;)
I wish I was, what a dream job that would be!
