1. Chrome Adblock is brilliant. Pages load faster, no ads everywhere, wish I'd discovered it sooner.

2. Samsung Kies is the biggest piece of c**p junk software I've ever come across. Samsung should be ashamed. Endless update loops, devices not recognised - not good enough.

I agree with both of those!

luckily I never managed to get Kies working with my phone so never had to deal with the endless updates!

I understood what it was intended for & pretty much all of it is done automatically with a gmail account.

Why do you want to use Kies ?
Good question - I guess because I know ICS is coming thought it may be easier to update via Kies, but I'm sure I'll be able to do it OTA. There is also a bit of bl**dy mindedness - once I discovered it wasn't working I didn't want to get beaten by a stupid bit of software^_^

Kies is shite but then you shouldnt ever need to plug you Android device into a PC at all as updates can be all done OTA as rusky says :secret: unlike some other overpriced devices I could mention :secret:

If you do find your self needing to transfer some files from you PC to your android device I can recommend using WIFI Transfer Pro it enables you to acess the Android device via the web browser and upload any files you want to it  or Dropbox for sharing files between multiple devices.

Seems like Kies doesn't have a monopoly on being shite. My daughter has just got a Blackberry and Blackberry app world seems like it's neck and neck with Kies for being a piece of totally useless junk.

Never mind it's a blackberry so you don't need to worry about it, the way they are losing value they won't be around much longer. I had 2 blackberrys at the beginning of the year and I got rid while they were still worth something.

I'm not a fan - I think the build quality is poor, menus are clunky, whole thing is not very intuitive but daughter loves it cos she can bbm with her mates. I do think the qwerty keyboard works well though.

Don't get me wrong I like the blackberry and I love the push email, the only problem is that the biggest advantage that blackberry had over other phones, the push email, has now become their biggest disadvantage.

When they had their network outage last year it highlighted that if the blackberry servers go down your lose all your access to email. Years ago when data plans were expensive you didn't want your phone checking for emails every few minutes coz it would cost you so it was great that the blackberry servers would pick up your email and push it to your phone , these days who cares data is cheap so wave goodbye to the blackberrys biggest advantage.

I am afraid that once the kiddies get bored of blackberrys and move onto the next thing unless blackberry pull off a miracle of Steve Jobs saving apple at the last minute proportions they will go down the drain, probably closely followed by nokia.

I am getting much better with these touch screen keyboards a few months ago I couldn't have typed all that without a real keyboard.
