Should be getting my C2W sorted any day now and think I've settled on the Cube Peleton Race.

I'm going for a triple chainset to help with getting up the hills around this part of N.Wales. The compact on my current Carrera does the job for 99%, its just really for a couple of nasties....my excuse and will stick to it.

I'm a council employee and the scheme that's just been introduced is Halfords C2W, but they have said I can get most bikes through them and have checked that the Cube will come in under £1000 limit.

I currently have Shimano M520 SPD Pedals on the Carrera, so am thinking of popping down to tweekcycles for another pair.

Does the above look okay, I've had a short test ride of the Cube, it handles much better than I'm used to, its just this bike will be with me hopefully for atleast the next two years so have started to dither:unsure:

Cheers Sean

If its coming in at just under 1000, C2W may not be the best way to buy it. The LBS near me (Cube dealer) sells it for 679. It's a great choice of bike, but I'd advise researching where your nearest dealer is, and see whether you can get it from them for a much better price, and much better after sales!

Are you sure its the Peleton RACE and not just the Peleton? They've got totally different gearsets. The Race has a mix of 105 and Ultegra and the Peleton at £675 has Sora.

When the window on my c2w scheme opens again, the Cube Peleton Race (with triple chainset) is the bike I'm also leaning towards. For the price it looks an impressive spec, but until my local dealer gets some in stock I wont know for sure how it rides.

I've looked about and £999 seems to be the current price for the Race, Iwas going for the Pro but after reading the multiple threads the Race has edged it for me.

Lbs has the range in stock and when I had my brief test ride I belived I could use them through the scheme. Unfortunately its has to be Halfords, I,m okay doing my own servicing though so won't trouble them once its mine

I didn't know Halfords were Cube dealers.

They're not but through the C2W scheme they offer a wider choice. I was told to contact the service centre on 08450 778850 and they said the Cube range was available

Its all sorted now. Letter of Collection (approval) came by email this morning and have the Cube ordered.
Unfortunately there's a delay on 60cm frames so it will be the end of the month early march before I get it from my local Halfords....Spring weather:wahhey:

You won't be disappointed. I have the Race under the C2W scheme.

I found an LBS who joined Halfords scheme as an approved supplier, so the bike hasn't been anywhere near Halfords.

If you already have SPD shoes, then why not shop around for a pair of PD A520 pedals. They have a single sided mechanism, so are lighter than M520, but a larger contact area for your shoe, so no hotspots and more efficient power transfer. they look better too.
