Choice of 2 bikes - Help

We are down to a choice of 2 bikes (We think), for Jannies all year round, do everything bike. They are both the same price but with slightly different spec. It could actually come down to colour preference, as both are well suited for the job.

Which would you choose and why?

Genesis because I've got one and love it

I'd probably take Tiagra + TRP HY/RD over Ultegra + Avid BB7 but the red Holdsworth might snick the colour stakes.

For my two pennies, I prefer the aesthetics of the Genesis for some reason. But I do drive a Volvo so feel free to ignore.

I would wait. But Jannie has decided to ride a Denmark End to End before Easter. I would like to get it here and get it fitted out so she can get used to it before then.

It is looking like the CDF at the moment. You never seem to see anything bad written about them.

No unfortunately not.

A nice dilemma to have. I would choose the red one. Red ones go faster

Tough. I'd be slightly inclined to the CdF because of the Reynolds tubing and what I think is the general reputation of the bike, but the things bolted to the Holdsworth frame seem generally slightly better IMO... I am slightly concerned by the this-is-not-the-bike labels on the pictures, though, and I've had more consistent service from Evans than PX.

There's also the Genesis equilibrium disc which would be fairly similar to the Holdsworth and perhaps lighter than the Croix. Another option (I'm biased albeit mines without the discs)

That's really nice as well. But I can put a front rack on the CDF.

But seriously, I'd be more interested in the Genesis bike. I've heard more about them on the touring scene than Holdsworth/PX
