For sale is my daughter's latest bike, which she has been riding since 7-8 years old. It's in great condition, key components having been protected by helicopter tape (and, to her credit, due in no small part to her having only one minor spill on!). There is a chip on the fork crown and some scuffing to the mech, but other than that, it's pretty much perfect and finished in a lovely deep metallic red.
It was made by Genesis as part of their quite short-lived kids range and we were lucky to pick it up just after they stopped making them (Cyclesprog site still lists it as a kids' bike to look out for s/h)
In keeping with Genesis's reputation, it has very few 'no-name' parts, being quality components throughout. The full spec is:
Frame: ALX7 6061 Double-Butted Aluminium
Fork: Unicrown Cr-Mo
Headset: FSA No.10AY Internal
Shifters: Shimano Tourney Revoshift SL-RS45-8R (R/H only) Swapped for Rapidfire, but original included in sale.
Rear derailleur: Shimano Altus RD-M310
Chainset: 34T Single Ring w/ Chainguard (145mm)
Bottom Bracket: TH BB-7420ST, 68x103mm
Chain: KMC X8
Cassette / Freewheel: Shimano CS-HG31-8, 11-34T, 8sp
Rims: Alex MD19, 28H
Hubs: Joytech 28H
Spokes: 14G Stainless Silver w/ Brass Nipples
Tyres: Kenda K-West, 24x1.25" / Kenda Happy Medium, 24x1.125"
Brakes: Tektro 837AL V-Brake
Brake Levers: Tektro TS-325A
Handlebars: Genesis Jnr Flatbar, 540mm x 9 degree Backsweep
Grips / Tape: Genesis Jnr, 102mm
Stem: Genesis MTB, 70mm x +10
Saddle: Genesis Jnr Road
Seatpost: Genesis Road, 27.2 x 350mm
Pedals: Genesis Road
Weight: 9.15kg (w/o pedals)
The weight above is accurate - I just weighed the bike as-is, including pedals and full mudguards and a heavier saddle than standard, and it is exactly 10kg. It's lighter than the equivalent Frog, and slightly (c700g) heavier than Isla's claimed weight for their Beinn 24.
Original Genesis brochure here: https://www.genesisbikes.co.uk/media/catalogues/genesis/2017_catalogue.pdf
Also included in the sale are the oem Revoshifter in case your child would prefer that refitted. I can also re-fit the oem saddle if desired. I will also include a pair of light knobbly tyres (unused) which came with the bike - the charmingly named "Happy Mediums" from Kenda
All in all a lovely bike in great condition, that will compare very favourably with any Islabike or Frog (we've had both brands in the past)
£225 ono. Pick up welcome near Bicester Oxon, or I will post in the original Genesis carton at cost.
