Child seat on an Allez??

Ok so practicallity when chosing things has never been my strong point..... up to this weekend the last 4 months with my new Allez Elite has been wonderfull, not regretted it at all.

Untill I went for a ride with my 8 year old on saturday and my 2 year old had a massive strop because he could not come with me, felt so guilty. The one thing I did not consider was taking him in one of those little trailers or a seat that attached to the seat post.

The seat post is carbon, so would I need to get a second seat/seatpost for when I go out with him on the back or should I avoid child seats/trailers on a roadie altogether and get a 2nd hand MTB out the paper/ebay?

I've kept my hybrid (mainly) for this reason... but it also does me in very bad weather when I don't want my Spesh Allez Elite (see, like minds and all that!) taking a hammering in sh*tty weather (mainly when it's icy).
