What are the cheapest websites for a new bike?

I have had a look on Amazon and Halfords already and CRC seem to be a little steep, but are there any which are cheaper than these? I have already had a look on Ebay as well.

The reason being is that I am in need of a commuter bike urgently. (MTB or Hybrid)

Daft question; does your college/uni do a bike loan scheme? Mine does and students get a decent bike for £50 a year.

Doubt it. No many students cycle their as they come from quite long distances away.

The reason I am asking is that I have had a job offer and am going to take it so need a commuter urgently as I simply dont want to risk my race bike getting stolen.

It's a cycle recycling shop/charity. If I'm correct you're in Prestatyn; http://betterbikes.moonfruit.com/ is the local charity but they don't seem to do recycling.

Personally I'd go for a second-hand hack; road/MTB depending upon distance. £100 gets you an unwanted present; my cheap Carrera Virtuoso has already paid for itself at least twice from commuting savings, I've spent 20p on parts (hey, I'm in Yorkshire) and cost around £100.

Winstanleys is cheap - they're mail order specialists, or you can collect if you live near Wigan

Decathlon Sports have a good range of stuff - own brand but very good VFM

Many shops clear out old stock on ebay - search for new bikes - I've made savings of over 50% on new bikes this way

Some people sell new bikes on ebay that they've bought and never used

Thanks for the tips guys but I have decided to play it local and just buy the cheapest from Halfrauds. I am getting a few other bits and kitting the bike out straight away (computer, lights, lock, mudguards). In all its costing my just under £140 so I will be pretty happy with the outcome when I get the bike tomorrow.
