Cheap bike gear

Hi, I'm just getting into cycling and looking for some cheap gear.

I've bought stuff from Lidl and Aldi in the past but they don't have cycle gear in just now.

Looking for stuff like a cycling balaclava, some loose fitting cycle shorts and a head lamp.

Not wanting anything fancy as might yet turn into a fad. Just wondered if there were any good places people could recommend going where I wouldn't have to spend an arm and a leg? Maybe there are general outdoor places that are cheaper than the specialist bike shops?

Plenty of bargains mentioned here. Lots of folks are adding new ones all the time. Aldi/Lidl bargains always seen here first also.

headlamp - if you mean head mounted - Alpkit Gamma is v good vfm
customer service is brill too
