Charge Mixer 8 XL galvanised

2010 Charge Mixer - used daily for five years, but unused since 2016. Extra Large frame, so only good for someone over six foot. 8-speed Alfine hub gear - serviced several times using the Shimano approved oil dip method. Shimano dynohub and Busch & Muller lighting - original front wheel available if needed. Mudguards and a rear rack. Schwalbe Marathon 32mm tyres, along with a pair of Schwalbe Winter studded tyres (30mm width) for icy conditions. The Shimano hydraulic brakes have been upgraded from the original Shimano. The frame and fork are galvanised, so are almost completely rust free, although there is a small amount of pitting. The Charge Spoon saddle is new but identical to the original. I can include a pair of pannier bags if needed.

£300 - located 5-minutes walk from a mainline station near Southampton (hour-and-a-half from Waterloo) - I'd rather not post.

Used to have one of these. Great little rat bike to get around a city and very reliable. Frame handles beautifully.

Interested. Will PM.

Nice bike sadly too big for me...

Incidentally dud you have it galvanised or was it galvanised from new?

If you did it yourself what steps did you need to take?

Many thanks James

It was galvanised from new - I wanted the black one at the time, but if I’d gone for that it would be pretty rusty by now - the zinc plating had held up really well. I wonder why it’s not much more popular on steel bikes?
