if u go for suspension fork you will have to consider the effect on the steering - it could end up feeling like a boa.t To be sure you'd need to ask manufacturer if the headstock can actually take a suspension fork or not as bike is designed for rigid - you'd not be able to fit a long travel sus fork on it for sure. It will also add weight to the bike going for susp fork.

You can put a sus fork on the Cooker 1,but I would limit it to a 120mm one.
There are quite a few options out there, and if buying new,my options are under £300.
Rock Shox XC30,cheap but not nasty.heavy but durable. And all for £110
Rock Shox Sektor,a great fork and lighter.Shop around to get it for under £300.
Rock Shox Reba RLT,,but again, shop around to get it for 250.

I know,all Rock Shox,but value for money.
Better still, that is the new retail prices,so maybe have a look on fleabay

Thanks, for the info, gives me a few things to think about!, was looking for 100-120mm travel if I went down the suspension fork route, just to take the sting out of local trails, I know the cooker 2 has a suntour suspension fork, but wasn't sure of the other options out there........so thanks again for the suggestions

The Rockshox will be adjustable for travel.. 'most of them' so 100mm to 120..
my sektor fork was 100mm to 150mm !! And a superb fork for the price with through axle too

I still have mine !!!
It was supposed to be a stepping stone to getting a Pike after a year.
2 years on,I see no reason to upgrade,it's still doing the business with no issues.

have taken the plunge and gone for the sekor fork, having looked around, read a lot of good things abour this fork, fitting it tonight and going out for a ride!!!

Nice one,it won't let you down.
I'm just on the train coming back from Mugdock near Milngavie, nothing too taxing but some rooty rocky descents ,where the Sektor comes into play.
Enjoy your ride !!!!:bicycle:
