Just bought a new Giant Roam 2 and very disappointed with the quality of tyres. Only done 30 miles of gentle riding and got a puncture, the tyres are so flimsy. I'm going to change them and want to fit narrower ones. I fitted Schwalbe on my last bike, and they had a high resistance to punctures and would like to fit the same.
My new bike presently has 700x42C (42-622) tyres and I would like to get down to 700x35C (37-622). The outside dimensions of the wheel rims are 26mm on my new bike and 22mm on my old one. Do you think this is possible?

The 37-622s will be fine on the rims with external width of 26mm (implies an internal width of 21mm).
I recommend you stick to 42-622 though: I see no benefit in going narrower.

I'm used to riding with the narrower tyres, the wider ones on my new bike feel like I'm riding through porridge.
