I want to shorten my stem from 110mm to 90mm

I thought it was as easy as just buying one but while searching on chain reaction I've got the option of steerer diameter and angle degree

Although I know what both options mean I don't know which one I need, I just want the same as what I've got but shorter

I've got the boardman team carbon if this helps at all

The usual is for 31.8mm bars (oversize - allthough I'd guess 90% of modern bikes have oversize bars).
Angle is down to personal preference... think most road bikes are something like 6 degrees - most stems can be flipped, so this can be a raise.

Have a look at the Planet X site - they usually have a nice selection of stems at much lower prices than the usual culprits (their superlight stem is very good).

Ha ha yeah I know obvious answer, just wondered if any one knew off the top of their head as I wanted to order one before I leave for work tonight and haven't got the time to take it off before I leave

http://www.boardmanbikes.com/road/road_team_carbon.html it is 31.8. Says 7 degrees but 6 is pretty much the same and is the standard. You can mount it either way up

as the steerer angles backwards, when the stem is in one position it looks level, in the other it will slope up at 12 or 14 degrees depending whether it is a 6 or a 7

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Stem stack height can also vary, so you may have to add/remove/change spacers. Obviously easier to get one with the same stack height.
