Chainstay protection

Hi there,
Just bought a new Specialized Sirrus Elite (and loving it) however, the chain seems to bang about a lot when going over any kind of bump and keeps hitting the chainstay. The bike has a very thin protective film over this area but I think I'd feel more confident with something a bit more sturdy. There seem to be lots of protectors out there (Lizardskins etc) but have no idea which to choose. Many have different sizes but I'm not sure how you know whether the chainstay you have is standard/oversized etc...could anyone give me advice???
Thanks,
Russ

Bikehut's own brand ones are surprisingly good - come in a pack with some smaller ones you can put under your cables where they rub the frame.

DO THIS NOW before you notice that your cables are rubbing away the paint.

You're welcome.

Thanks everyone...I'm gonna have a good look round today. Seems a shame to cover the lovely paintwork but I guess I'd be really annoyed if it does chip!!!

I tried a few and settled for insulating tape for my white Boardman. Works a treat and is as cheap as chips. Obviously if your bike isn't black, white, blue or red then you will have to go for a dearer option.

I've just spent half an hour with a petrol soaked rag and my thumbnails getting some two-year-old gaffer tape off Cubette's chainstay. I have replaced it with inner tube and cable ties like I have on every other bike in the garage.
