Got a feeling I know the answer most of you will give me but here goes.
Got a Giant TCR Advanced which I want to tweak a bit ;)
First impressions of the stock wheels were that I need to change them straight way, but after a few months on the tcr I seem to be bombing along with them ok now. I will more than likely go for a new set of zonda's as they're an amazing wheel at a reasonable price. Now I'm thinking, do I wait until winter is out the way and get them in the new year ready for spring and purchase a new chainset instead ?
Got 105 all round apart from the chainset which is the standard shimano one. I want to eventually upgrade to full ultegra group and thought upgrading that would be a good start.
Wheels are generally the best way to go for first upgrade but is it worth doing when I'm only going to be ticking over during winter ?

A spare pair of wheels is always nice (and useful). Changing the chainset is pointless in my view, unless you are OCD about having all 105 kit. If you're gonna change wheels, don't change an average wheelset for another average wheelset. Spend a bit more on a set of Dura Ace C24s or similar. Then you will have an average wheelset for beating about on, plus a top quality set for nice days out, or events, etc.

Good advice and I like your way of thinking but those wheels are a bit out of my price range.

Are Zonda's average ???
I can see a debate coming on here, ha ha

I would say they are average. Average wheels are still perfectly usable though. I just don't think 'upgrading' to a pair of Zondas is really much of an upgrade on a bike like the TCR. Cero AR30s might be worth a look - cheaper than the DAs, but still a good, light wheelset with good reviews.

Why change anything if you are 'bombing along ok' ?

Have you ever had a pair of Zonda's, I doubt it by your comment as they are certainly not average, I would say above average for the price they can be picked up for.....:cuppa:

It's all a matter of perspective and definition. You might think they are 'above average' if you have never ridden anything better to compare them to. They are average wheels at an average price point. 'Average' can also mean 'good value' to some people, but it does not mean they are 'sh*t', just to be clear.

I'd wait and upgrade the groupset in one go,how about just the gearset and go di2?;or maybe keep an eye out for some Dura-Ace bits in sales and second-hand?

As for wheels Zondas are good;I have a set and they have been brilliant on both bikes but I am looking at something a bit better for the Helium(future funds permitting),currently Campy Shamals(2-way fit Ultras) are the favourites but also been looking at Hed Ardennes+ and maybe some hand-builts too.
