Got the misses to pick me up a chain whip thinking that all chain whips are pretty much the same

The one she picked up says suitable from 5-8 speed

Will this work on my 10 speed cassette?

I've changed a few cassettes by borrowing a mates chain whip but never noticed a speed/gear rating on his

Surley they all just wrap around the cassette I can't see how a speed rating makes a difference or am i wrong?

Spacing may be tight but should work.

Your 10 speed will have a narrower chain than a 5 to 8 speed.
However, it doesn't really need to be a perfect fit, it's only there to brace the cassette while you break the nut.
Try it and see

Cheers guys, just checked and the chain whip doesn't look any thicker than my bike chain plus it fits in between the cogs

If I get any problems I've got an old 10 speed chain laying about I'll just out that one on the whip handle
