Chain Skipping

Hello
If anyone can supply an input it would be gratefully received.
Have had gear problems so had a new chain a couple of weeks ago [broke] and a new cassette this week. Bike runs nice apart from the chain skips on the cassette. Any idea why this is, before i royally mess up the gears with fiddling? [bike is a giant cyclocross]

You might need to adjust the gear by indexing them

I tensioned using the cable using the barrell adjuster and it works fine now,
