looking at increasing outer chain ring how big can i go and where do you get bigger chain rings from i was thinking 56 tooth
Hope someone can help

I've got to ask. Why do you want a 56x11 on a bike ?

52x11 @ 95rpm = 35.4 mph
56x11 @ 95rpm = 38.1 mph

The usual reasons for monster chainrings are
a) small-wheeled bikes (eg Moulton)
b) not having learned to pedal at >90rpm yet

Chainrings are available up to about 60T.

the change from 52T to 56T will mean 2 extra links in the chain (i.e 1 outer link and 1 inner link).

Where did an 11-35 cassette come from?

I've got a 10speed 105 triple - 30/39/50. I've switched the 50 for a 52, but the limit (on ten speed at least) is a 13 tooth throw. So presumably with 42 you'll be looking at 55 max. Though why on earth you'd want a bigger ring than a 52 is another question. What sort of riding do you do?

I, like almost everyone who races, race on a 53/39. Mainly because it's the standard double. I've seen plenty of decent riders in races riding what look like 52s or even 50s. Even at over 30mph you rarely dip into the 11 and 12 sprockets except perhaps in the sprint. 56x11 is sort of gear used by monstrous testers (usually on a fixed) on pan flat courses on float nights in September.

You need to spend some time working out what the capacities of your existing front and rear mechs are (look on the manufacturer's web site) to see how big you can go with your existing kit.
Spa or SJS are my usual source of chain rings.
TBH, I'd just learn to spin
