What's the best out there to buy that doesn't attract the muck off the road and keeps the new parts looking reasonably new? I have some GT85 but i'll wait till i hear what others think before spraying it on those new parts.

I just use finish line dry lube myself. I cleaned my chain yesterday, has done around 1500 miles. Took me around 15 minutes with an old rag (tea towel) dampened with muc off ( only used that as I'd bought it years ago, a dilute fairy liquid solution probably would have done a similar job). Finish line applied today

This was a bike ridden mainly in the dry, an all weather commuter may need more frequent care!

Thats what i use mate, no problems with it. It is a dry lube, so doesnt attract crap. Go sparingly with it, you don't need a lot. I usually wash the bike with sponge and car shampoo, and give it a good rinse with hosepipe, and let it dry. Then lightly lube the chain and cables, the lube from the chain will lube the sprockets. Don't pressure wash your bike, but if you must, keep it away from bearing housings, seals and anywhere else you wouldn't want water to get into. These parts are water resistant in normal use, and even when submerged, but are not designed to withstand pressure, and you will water down or wash out lubricants if you are not very careful.

White Lightning Wax.

I also wipe my chain over with baby wipes after every ride. Takes 5 minutes at the most.

Relube after 3 dry rides or after every wet ride

I tried Finish Line and I think it's not great for use in Norfolk

Any reason why? Just curious

It was fine at first, very quiet, then after the first sandy road (I think it was Eastgate Drove/Brick Yard Lane towards Gayton Thorpe) it had turned black and started grinding before the end of the ride. Maybe it's just me, but I've half a trial-size bottle unused after that.

Funny isn't it how people's views differ!
I find for me it's the best.
At the moment I'm using Finish Line Dry but I not liking it one little bit - I bought it to try something different but I'll be going back to the White Lighting as soon as it's all gone.

I use Muc Off Ceramic. Wet or Dry depending on conditions. Usually end up with Wet on on the Winter bike and Dry on the other, for obvious reasons.

Actually bought the Team Sky Muc Off lube at the Velothon recently. Expensive, yes, but I was disappointed that the Velothon Jersey was too big for me so decided to indulge. I will get chastised for this indulgence, but can honestly say it is very good in comparison even to the normal ceramic lube I use above.

Lasts better in wet or dry conditions and drivetrain sounds way smoother and for longer too. Shifting is smoother also. Depends on how much you notice these things mind you!
