Yes I've used one and accidentally dropped it and it shattered into a dozen pieces. Cheap plastic.

Personally I don't think they work any better than other methods. I use a canned degreaser, spray it onto my chain then wash it off (taking care not to get it near any bearings) and I think that works just as well if not better. A friend just takes the chain off and puts it into a can of diesel, though that entails a little more work as you've got to take it off and put it back, and you need a quick release link.

Mickle for me.Do it every week without fail.
I do use fenwicks foam every few months if its been constantly crappy weather though

Yeah well i picked one up anyway and it worked good enough for me.
Will try the Mickle method next time to give that a whirl.
