Do I need one of these things??

Since I had my chain and cassette replaced I've noticed my chain comes off when dropping from big chain ring to small chain ring?? Previously never had this problem at all, but id say about 8 times out of 10 it will drop to the small chainring no problem but the rest of the time it will just come off altogether.

I'm guessing its just the way the gears have been set up?? Why do pros use these things? should I just go back to the lbs that fit the chain/cassette and tell them to sort it out and not bother with this little device?

Thanks

Thanks for that!

I didn't fancy buying/spending more money on something like that anyways... i'll get the lbs to sort it!!

Get one.

Obivously get your setup spot on first though.

You can set your derailleur up perfect and this can still happen.

The chain could get jammed up, damaging it, your paintwork and bike frame (especially carbon). This is something you can avoid by spending a couple of quid.
