I know theres a few Cayo owners on here, has anyone changed the seatpost?

I measured as best I could but without calipers I cant get accurate enough. I asked Wiggle and they tell me 30.6

which a, seems like a strange size and b, my post looks bigger than that

Has anyone changed theirs and can confirm the seatpost size

Thanks

If you pull it out and wipe it clean, you will probably find the size written on it.

+1. Sounds like a 31.6mm one though.

Yaeh, I thought it was 31.6 but thought I'd better check so I didnt have the hassle of ordering the wrong size, returning it etc. But you'd hope Wiggle would know what they were talking about. The guy even checked with their workshop. I'll go and pull it out in a minute and see if theres anything on it.

Working on the assumption that Focus wouldn't bother with bespoke sizes for their bottom of the range carbon frame I went with a standard size when replacing mine. The 31.6 Ritchey post I bought fits fine.

I read this and for a moment I thought I'd inadvertantly clicked on the other forum I go on some evenings!

As a Cayo owner for 3 months I am still using the original seatpost and saddle. I know there have been a lot of complaints about the saddle but after experimenting with height/position over a few rides (max. 28 miles) I now find it ok. I.d be interested to know if those of you who have changed the seatpost have experienced a much smoother ride.

I find the saddle quite good, certainly for the shorter distances, just want to change it for my favourite so I'm comfy over 70 miles and stick a carbon seatpost in while I'm on

( actually I'm just a bike tart really

FWIW my Cayo Pro had a Fizik Arione saddle which I thought was very good, I only changed my seat post as I changed all the finishing kit to Ritchey WCS, but I kept it all aluminium, never seen the point of carbon bars, stems and posts tbh.

After reading your comments I checked and now realise the Concept SL seatpost is alloy. I always assumed it was carbon to complement the frame and forks. My last bike (specialised allez) had a carbon seatpost so silly me assumed the same on the Cayo. I now understand why you are changing your seatposts.
