Cavendish's gloves

at the Giro Mark Cavendish looked like he was wearing track mitts with wrist supports or if they were one piece what gloves are they?

That looks like the ones, I thought they might be remedial and good for wrist fatigue or perhaps a sprinting aid that would explain why Cav goes that fast and I don't, oh well.

I have a pair and they don't offer much support to the wrists, the gloves also do not any degree of warmth. They are quite tight fitting as such I believe they are simply there to protect the hands should the rider come off, they are quite thin and areo in styling
