I was just watching a YouTube video of Cav's sprints, especially those in partnership with Mark Renshaw. I can never forget that sprint on the Champs Elysees when the camera was on a motorbike riding alongside the leaders with no sign of Cav, and then just when you were asking yourself: "Where's the Manx Missile?" Cav exploded into sight from the right of the screen and shot past the two leaders to win. Thrilling.

Can anybody find that video for me?

Cycle racing is just a little less thrilling now that Cav's powers appear to be waning.

Magnificent. I hate to give cedit to Ligget but he's right, it was as if someone pulled a catapult. Blistering pace. Cav was one of the greats. And I f**king hate sprint stages.

It wasn't just Cav. What was so amazing, in those days, was also how the HTC train functioned, like clockwork, and the rival teams could do literally nothing about it. It was really a sight to behold.
