Cavendish Evade Helmet

has anyone bought one of these?. I know they are very expensive but I wouldn't mine spending the money on a good quality helmet that looks good too. Any feed back would be appreciated on comfort,cost and performance.

Comfort - down to the wearer
Cost - If you want one, only you can decide if it's worth it.
Performance - it actually comes out pretty well in ventilation tests. Fortunately, we haven't had to test protection yet.

Ventilation was what I was thinking of as it seems quite enclosed for aerodynamics so climbing up hills may be too hot.

What kind of length climbs are you planning on? Some of the Etixx riders swapped to the Prevail on the mountain stages, but those were 30-50 minute alpine climbs in mid summer...

Some big climbs would easily takeme 30-50 mins to be honest.

I've never seen the evade in the flesh yet and am wondering if its a low profile style compared to the standard youghurt pot on your head.

I have looked at Aero style helmets recently, and the Evade was top of my list. I like the Cvndsh version, but my Wife bought me the Cav Oakleys last year and felt I might look a bit of a plonker. Lol.

Anyway, a new challenger has arrived in the Bontrager Ballista. Initial reviews show the Ballista as being better performance wise as well as being cooler due to slightly better airflow.

Both are excellent helmets though and really down to which fits better and you prefer looks wise.

Is it going to improve our performance? Who knows at our levels, but if it simply diminishes the noise on a windy day then it would be worth the spend to me. We get lots of windy days here and I ride near the coast quite a bit.

I have an evade and find it ok . Kask do the most comfortable helmets I think but they start at medium

I just sold my evade yesterday, looked bloody stupid on my head but i think if i had a white one it wouldnt look too bad as id never had a black helmet before.
Performance wise you will notice nothing
Comfort wasnt as good as my lazer helmets
And price is sky high lol

Try one on. Does it fit you, feel comfortable. If not it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks
