I enjoyed the article too. It's too easy to form impressions based solely on the comments he's made after a race etc. Interviews give an opportunity to balance those heat of the moment comments with something a little more considered.

He obviously sees himself more as a road rider, which I didn't fully appreciate, so it's going to be interesting to see how he gets on next year. I still think he's got a little way to go before taking a green jersey but I'd like to be wrong!

He comes across as a refreshingly candid bloke. A nice change from a lot of the anodyne interviews of most sportsmen. If you're shooting from the hip though you have to expect a few stray shots with his post race comments.
