Catseye Strada Wired thought I was Superman

My Catseye Strada has been playing up over the last few days giving me crazy readings such as 47kph off road,uphill. I wish! I had cleaned the magnet and the receiver on the fork but the problem seemed to come and go randomly. On the way home from a reported 160km ride it suddenly dawned on me. I had not checked the computer and holder for contamination. Upon removing the computer all looked ok but a quick blow into the holder shifted a film of water. After replacing the computer my speed returned to normal. Just thought I'd mention it incase it helps anyone else.

Some Taxi radios used to set off a false reading too, but on the wireless. Very funny, have been told by other riders that they returned home to find their average speed was something like 40mph.

I did 103mph once, according to my cycle computer. It was downhill, though .....

Sometimes underground hightension cables can effect wireless computors. I was out near Dunstable when my average speed went up to 63mph inexplicably, and the computor froze.

This is why I moved to wired. It was perfect today so the water was clearly the problem
