cassette lock ring tool compatability?

After years of having Campag kit on my bikes I now have a shimano groupset on my latest steed and want to replace the cassette, will my Campag lockring tool work on my shimano cassette or do I need a new one?

No, sadly you need a Shimano specific one.

It will but doesn't seat fully so you end up stripping the splines on the tool after 4 or 5 goes.

buy a Cyclus double sided one, campag on one side shimano on the other
