Carry Freedom city trailer - fix for broken tension wire

I have a carry freedom city trailer (the discontinued one that folds up).
Has anyone had a broken tension wire and found a fix for it? It's the steel cable that runs from near wheel axle to frame.
Carry freedom have sold out.

Looks like it would be a challenge to duplicate. Did the cable break or did it pull out from one of the ends?

Yes thats it, its not fixed in place and it slides thru a hole so the trailer can fold.
I asked hoping another trailer owner might see this and say how they solved it as they understand how it works, as you say its hard to replicate.
otherwise I could just fix it so trailer cant fold (and stays rigid). or i pay and engineer friend to solve it
