Carrera Subway men’s Large / 19” bicycle. BRAND NEW (Strava tells me I did 23 miles on it). Still highly rated / reviewed on Halfords website and is £345 if bought today. HOWEVER - this one has upgraded: Pedals, chain frame protector, grips, bar ends, mudguards, riser handlebars quality inner tubes, bottle cages etc (Well over £100 of upgrades) and has been built / set up perfectly by a qualified mechanic.

So basically half price AND a way better spec 👌

Looks, rides, sounds, goes, changes gear and stops BETTER than new. ***This was going to be the Winter back up bike. However I’ve been using a much loved 10 year old version of the same bike !

New incoming bike / lack of space forces sale.

My (9 or so) retro BMX’s all sold very quickly before Xmas……completely different market these were aimed at of course.

Yesterday: I advertised the Subway here, Gumtree, 5 or 6 local Facebook groups, Free ads, Marketplace, my fb page and possibly another local online site I found.

Not a single call, message etc so far. I think I might struggle with this type of bike at this price-point 🤷‍♂️

Someone always has money for something rare / desirable. But people looking for a cheap runner in this area are generally likely to be buying a £30’er. I’m guessing I’m aiming / hoping for the dedicated commuter who’s looking for a new bike with years of trouble-free Mon-Fri travel ahead of ‘him’.

Thankfully it doesn’t matter if it goes or not. Although I’d rather have the space if I could. I’m just kind of chewing the fat about the state of the market, the economy and my area (?). Especially so soon after Christmas……

There’s no panic. As much as the money isn’t needed per-se. I’d pay £25…..or the difference in the pricings for the space. And it just brings it well below the £200 barrier / 1/2 original price.

If it doesn’t sell now; I will indeed slide it into a dark corner for the time-being 😁

Bargain and love a Subway, think my (much worse spec) 2010ish Subway was about this price. Too far away for me but if you can store it, this will sell come spring if not before.
