I'm looking for a replacament bike for my other half. She currently has a Decathlon Rockrider 5.1 bought last year. I bought that to see if she enjoyed cycling and she does, so I want to get something with rigid forks.
She will more than likely do a max of 500 miles a year, so it just needs to be a solid bike.
I had banked on buying a Revolution Trailfinder from Edinburgh Cycles as they are on offer for £180 & the Manchester shop is getting one in for us to try this weekend. Spec is here.
Having a Carrera Subway 1 myself I always keep an eye out on them and they currently have the Carrera Subway Limited edition womens bike for £200. Spec here.
Now, I had expected them to be very similar bikes and thought I'd go for the Revolution, due to the lower price, free mudguards and a more specialist bike shop however I'm now having second thoughts after having a more detailed look at the specs. The Revolution has single skin alloy rims whereas the Carrera has double skinned. Plus some of the drivetrain on the Revolution is very difficult to find online and I suspect it's old componentry.
Am I being overly analytical? Ease my worries.
