Hi - just bought a second hand Gryphon for my young lad - looking for tyres and a new pump so after some advice.
Looking for fairly cheap items - especially the pump - since he's already lost three decent Leyznes!

The tyres are I think between - Continentals - unsure if these will fit the Gryphon or the Kenda originals 700 28. Which are best - remembering that more than likely to get rough treatment?

As to the pump - anything that's cheap durable and will get to 90-100psi - when I say cheap I mean under a tenner please - just watched three lots of £25 disappear in a month :banghead:

Beto mini pumps are fine and inexpensive but takes a fair few pumps to get up to pressure.Only down side is that these kind of pumps bend presta values fairly easy. Best way round is to get a preta to shcrader value adaptor that way less like to bend values and you can pump up using normal car pumps

For £75 you could have bought a track pump, which will inflate easily beyong 120 lbs and is too big to carry around and, presumably, to lose.

If my son lost his pump while out on the road he'd be walking home, end of.

Go i will bite, i know kids can lose anything but how does he lose 3 pumps ? surely they are attached to the frame, if not gaffer tape the pump to his forehead
