Looks perfect for day rides (waterproof, tools, food etc).

Carradice site says this is 2 litres capacity, which is a bit small given the food I get through! But it's dimensions suggest around 4.5 litres.

Can anyone confirm this? Looks not 'that much' smaller than the Barley (ignoring the pockets), when side by side:

Also, I was thinking of getting a Barley/Pendle/something bigger (as well as the Zipped Roll), with a Bagman2 support (Sport). But from the above photo, may be better off with something like the Lowsaddle Longflap (15 litres).

Any thoughts suggestions?

BTW: ebay buyers are daft. Someone just bought a factory-second Zipped Roll for over the RRP of a new one + postage

Not as stylish as a Carradice, but this little baby has become one of my most useful ever bits of kit.

I also use a Barley on an SQR mount for when I need more capacity, but the little Decathlon bag holds all I need for a good day ride. With 2 velcro strips it's on and off in seconds too.

Hmm, a third of the price. Though where will I put the jaffa cakes!
Not sure if it will take a mini D-lock either, but I'll have a proper look in Decathlon this week.
Thanks.

2 litres is not much at all, I have a saddle bag with that capacity and it can't take enough for commute duties.
Would ideally like a saddle bag I can fit without a rack big enough for light day commutes, say 4-5 litres

Lucky I stumbled across this, I noticed you had a neat little bag on one of the rides and was going to contact you this week to ask about it. Will order one today.

The 2 litre capacity stated for the Carradice zipped roll is definitely wrong, I have 2 of them and find that they are perfect for stuffing all the stuff you might need for a typical 'day' ride.
From the dimensions they give, and assuming it's basically a cylinder with a 14cm diameter base and a 30cm length you can calculate the volume using πr²h which give about 4.5 litre capacity and that sounds about right to me.

I had a look at the 2.5 litre Decathlon bag. Not really big enough for me.
So in the end I went for the Carradice Zipped Roll (which is the perfect size, now I have it in front of me), a Barley (just in case) and the Bagman2 QR Sport support. Cost quite a bit (from SJS). But I'm sure they will last.

The one thing I'm not entirely satisfied with are the long stays and chunky aluminium bosses for Bagman. Seem a bit over-engineered to me and get in the way when attaching/removing a rack. Obviously they're made to fit all sizes of bike/saddle height. So I may have a tinker in the shed :giggle: and make up something specific for my setup, which is less bulky.
