Just wondering if there is any established data to highlight how long a carbon frame should last - based on its mileage.

Mine is doing about 2k miles pa, mainly on pretty good roads & cycle paths with the odd pothole/rough patch of road.

It gets used in all weathers (a lot of rain in Scotland), but gets well cleaned and oiled. I weigh a fair bit - 16.5 stone, which I am sure will stress it a bit?

What lifetime do people expect to get out of these things? The bike is a Verenti Rhigos3 - £1400 quids worth if that makes any difference?

Carbon won't rust or stress fracture, but it will de-laminate if you put oil and grease on it...

If you don't crash or damage it, it should last for a long time. However, carbon frames don't like impacts so try and stay up-right!

Carbon doesn't have a half-life, unless we're talking C-14.
You really don't want to ride something made of radioactive isotopes. It'll fade your genes.
