Hi, finally back on my bike after many months of physio, MRI, exercises etc. Knee problem plus hams and calf playing up. Anyway things have improved in the past few weeks so I am back in the saddle.....just about.

Just before all my leg probs started my bike (a crosstrail) was stolen and I replaced it with a Sirrus, I have most probably only covered about 100 miles on it but I just can't get comfortable. I have played with the settings but as I up my miles I am feeling aches in the arm and shoulder and my knees are give me some discomfort. I am sure my set up is right so the quesion I have is..... can a bike just not suit you? In other words no matter what I do can the bike be the wrong choice?

As I have only been back riding for a couple of weeks after months off, my rides have only been around 5-8 mile trips, I am taking it easy before I start up my work commute again.

Any advice appreciated.

Have you tried changing the stem - the one on the Sirrus (my 2010 sport anyhow) is pretty long, the reach may be off? The geometry on the Sirrus is quite different to the Crosstrail. I have just sold my Crosstrail - I had both bikes in an XL and the Sirrus feels bigger (and the Spesh catalogue suggests the same). Also have you played around with the saddle position and height?

I'd go to your LBS and get measured on the bike. Are you using the standard pedal or clipless Maybe you are just not the right size for the Sirrus, but it does seem a bit odd if the Crosstrail was ok?
